HERE IS THE ORIGINALLY POST FROM 2012, UPDATED 2014:

I've seen more digital scrapbookers becoming frustrated with Far Far Hill Downloading so I'm upgrading my downloading tutorial with images. I hope it helps ~ Sheryl Johnson 5/8/2014

Step 1: On the Far Far Hill blog page where you discover the gorgeous goody choose "Click HERE to download."

Step 2: You'll be taken the the infamous DepositFiles.Com website. This is where your careful navigation to avoid delays and unnecessary downloads begins. Choose "Regular Download" if you don't want to buy downloading software.

Step 3: It is important here that you IGNORE the big red "Download Now!" icon. Indeed, I encourage you to ignore this icon everywhere on the web. It is usually not what you're wanting to download. It is clever advertising. As seen in this image it is time to WAIT for your Far Far Hill download. I presume it is so you have extra time to study all of their lovely advertising. Please forgive them. They are giving something away for free and they must make money somehow. These advertisers are paying them. Your time and dealing with the inconvenience is the way you are paying for the free and gorgeous Far Far Hill download.

Step 4: The waiting is over but now there is another hoop to jump through. Again it is important here that you IGNORE the big red "Download Now!" icon.  In this step you must enter an answer of some sort. The small screen above "Your Answer" will show you something and you'll have to figure out what it wants you to enter before clicking continue.

Step 5: Again it is important here that you IGNORE the big red "Download Now!" icon. Choose the plain and boring "Download File in regular mode by browser" icon.

Step 6: Step 5 should open your download screen for you to choose where you want to save the file. This step depends on the settings on the computer. Some computers are set to download everything to a specific place, usually the downloads file on your computer, and they don't ask you where you want to store it. That is another tutorial and I'll let somebody else do it. You can Google search how to download a file and how to extract a zipped file.

Step 7: You will know you've succeeded because you'll see "Your file downloading has started..." And yes, it does take a very long time. They are punishing you for not clicking the red button and buying into or downloading the distractions. In this case, they're giving you 48 minutes to think about your choice and wish, oh wish, that you had only purchased their quick downloading software. These downloads are moody. If your internet connection is interrupted you'll have to start over.

Most computers will have a pop up like this at the bottom so you can see how much time is left. As you can see my 48 minutes of wait time was really about 11 minutes. So they're not always the monsters they profess to be.

Just to convince you that their quick downloading software is the way to go they'll give you a limit of how many files you can download in a certain block of time. You'll have to come back tomorrow, basically. If you're an avid downloader and have an ambition to collect tons of Far Far Hill freebies then I suggest a Far Far Hill Pinterest board. It will help you not forget what you wanted to download. You can download them later and either delete them from your board or make a note in the comments that you've downloaded it so you don't do it twice.

I found the warning "Your system doesn't support this file. Click HERE to get the plugin" to be a lie on my Far Far Hill downloads. The files are fine/normal. DespositFiles is trying to be tricky and sell you things you don't need. Don't fall for it. After one download I get the message: Attention! Connection limit has been exhausted for your IP address! Please try in 35 minute(s). Is it worth it to you to wait? I suggest putting the images of kits you want from Far Far Hill on a Pinterest board and get to it when you get to it. If you're a downloader that likes to do them all in one day Far Far Hill may not be the source for you.

Free users who want to download files from the file hosting service Depositfiles need to wait 60 seconds before they can download the first files. Additional time limits are added once a few downloads have been made. The drawback of Depositfiles is its limited download caps and appallingly slow speeds

Why would Far Far Hill choose to use DepositFiles.Com to host their free downloading? They get paid for each time you download. They have high quality designs. I love their work. Is it a pain to download Far Far Hill Freebies? Yes. Is it worth it? That's a question I cannot answer for you. However, for me, yes, it is worth it.

To download from Deposit Files I choose "Regular Download." Then I get a pop-up ad. After I close the ad I have to click "Regular Download" again....Then I have to wait (Presumably so I can read their delightful advertisements about how I need to buy their DepositFiles products). Then I can find the tiny link to download in regular mode. And I wait while it downloads for a long time.

More about DepositFiles:
  1. Service issues a message "connection limit has been exhausted for your IP address, please try again in 5 (25, 55, etc.) minutes". What should I do to download a file?
  2. DepositFiles.com provides equally high qualified services to users from all the regions of the globe, regardless of size downloads, download time, user's browser and other parameters. With this purpose the system of dynamic load distribution was implemented. It operates on the following principle: “All users should have an opportunity to download large files and with good speed for FREE”
As download priority speed is given for GOLD Users, other users can download quickly only one by one file (first one, then another one). The time spent in the line (the phrase "try again in 10 minutes") depends on various factors ( file’s popularity, DepositFiles server load from your network segment, time of day , etc.), the main thing among which is the file size. The larger the file downloaded from your IP address is before, the more waiting time is. Therefore, in order to reduce waiting time we recommend to download small files at the beginning. Also , as the system recognizes users by their IP address, you can change your address and try to download the file again.
    1. How many files can I download from DepositFiles?
    2. The size of files you can download from DepositFiles depends on your ISP and your account status. Downloading files as Free User uninterruptedly and with speed restrictions you will have about 5 GB downloaded per day. All GOLD Users can download with maximum available speed. After reaching the 20 GB per day, the technical speed limit may be applied.

  3. Thank you so much for this invaluable information - I have tried literally for 3 years + since discovering them, and each time i've been met with this. I thought it was just me and didn't really have the heart (or patience) to figure it out... so, although they have fabulous images - for me, it's not worth the hassle...

Thank you again for the wonderful information you provide and all of the files i'm finding - I just discovered you when I did an google search, came across the Craft Cave and found myself here...

  4. Thank you for the info. For me, Far Far Hill Downloading is a pain, unacceptable, and the idea they're getting paid for each slow download is unacceptable and should be outlawed. If they're so hard up for money, than why offer freebies, just charge for the work! It's not worth my time to sit for hours to wait for their downloads to complete, have done it and refuse to do so again.

  5. What I find now when trying to download is a page that has a "sign in." It reads that registration is free but I couldn't figure out how to register. Typing info into the boxes brings you back to same page. Why bother posting items people can't reach?

  6. Out of the thousands of viewers that have downloaded from Far Far Hill you are the first that has reported this problem to me. I don't have an account with deposite files or a login. I've gone in today to download and I cannot replicate the needing to login issue you are reporting. As long as I'm ignoring the abundant ads and only choosing "regular download" I get to it eventually. I do have to type in a code for "your answer" but since the answer is typed right above it I've never had a problem. Easy? No. Worth it? For me, yes. I respect that some don't like the process so much that they will never download Far Far Hill Freebies but there are many thousands that appreciate the downloads so I will continue to highlight them. Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

  7. I too get the same message about signing in but it seems to be for Easy Cloud service even though url is deposit files. Looks sort of like this: easy cloud service

Wonder if it has anything to do with what country we are downloading from? I'm in US and used to be able to get deposit files but don't seem to be able to any more.

  8. I just downloaded today. I am using a Google Chrome browser. It is complicated to be sure but worked for me. I cannot think it would vary by country but I may be wrong. These are the multitude of steps I had to go through to get my download today:
    1) Clicked large “Regular Download” button
    2) Clicked Download File in Regular Mode by Browser
    3) Answered ”Enter the following”
    4) Clicked Download File in Regular Mode by Browser (again)
    Good Luck

  12. I personally think if there's something you really like at Far Far Hill, it's worth the wait. If the owner is getting paid while providing freebies, great for them. I have never had a problem, downloading for me is just idle work while I'm doing other things. Thanks for introducing me to them and all of the other wonderful providers as well as your own gems!

  14. Thank you! Thank you. I have wanted to download some of their stuff for a while now and thought it was just me. Whew!

  15. Ugh! I thought it was just me. There are some papers that are fabulous and I'm planning to download those however long it takes but in my honest opinion, what a crappy way to give out freebies! I almost want to cry when I see a pretty pack of paper I feel I must have! I've resorted to downloading the papers I cannot find anywhere else and are too fabulous for words.

  16. Thank you so much for this information. I have been trying for years to download from this site and finally gave up.I thought it was just me. Now thanks to you I have just downloaded my first kits. You are so kind to have taken the trouble to help all us frustrated admirers of the Far Far Hill site. They are indeed gorgeous and certainly worth the wait.

  17. Sometimes the free file is so wonderful I have to go ahead and put up with the process. However I have suggested that she not include the folder with ALL her preview kits. They take up a lot of the download time and by the time I've waited so long I don't take the time to even look at them.
    However thanks for the suggestions.

  18. Great comment. I don't think eliminating those images would make anything faster. I really believe the download company makes it very slow on purpose so you'll want to buy their fast product. I wish she'd choose a different download venue but that would mean she'd lose out on all the income made in this slow one. She makes money every time we download... Not much... not even a cent per download, but it adds up over time.

  19. I'm not that patient, I don't have 45 mins to wait on a download. I'd rather move on . And that's sad because she has some really nice stuff, but that's why I don't shop here.

  20. Thanks for the info . . . I've had experience with Far Far Hill before. However, the plain old download button never appeared on my screen - so, again, I click away from this site.

  21. That download site is a major PITA. How about I host them for free in return for what you've given me for free?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree with you that it is a pain. The reason why Far Far Hill can give away so many beautiful things without charging you for all of the time and hours they put in designing is only because they use this downloading method. Each time you download from this frustrating system it pays Far Far Hill a little money that adds up over time. With Granny Enchanted I need to make money with what I do. I could make a lot more money by using this same upload system but I host on Google instead for free. It makes it easier for my fans to download GrannyEnchanted designs. However, I only have income from Adsense and a few scant sales from kits. I can see why Far Far Hill uses the system they do. But yes, very, very frustrating. I agree...

  23. Thank you, very helpful! I had given up on downloading from them, thinking it was going to put a virus on my computer. I see so many nice things from FarFar on Pinterest and on here, so it's good to know you can actually download them. Thanks again for all you do here!

  24. Thank you thank you. I love the papers <3

  25. Thanks for the instructions, but I have a problem. I used to do download with no problems, but now... When I click "Regular download" it's opening a window, where they want me to enter my phone number ad pay.
Is there any chance do download Far Far Hill designs without payment?

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1) Choose Regular Download (close new window it pops up)
    2) "wait" allotted amount of seconds.
    3) Watch little advertisement to see the code it wants you to enter to prove you watched the ad.
    4) Enter the code.
    5) Chose "Download file in regular mode by browser" and it should open a save screen on your computer to start saving the file.
    Hope that helps.

  27. Thanks for help. I still can't download anything... Probably my problem is browser or antyvirus. When I installed Chrome I saw (just for about 1 sec.) window with final download, but then it close itself... So, I'm still looking for solution ;)

  28. Hi I am a totally different problem.whenever i try to download any freebee it brings me to the another page and after few minutes of waiting it says :

  29. That is very frustrating. I'm not surprised a government would block it. There are spam traps all over that page. I cannot duplicate the problem on my end when I use that deposit files link. It is such a frustrating way to offer freebies. I understand that for sure.

  30. Thanks for the great tutorial...

  32. Thanks so much - now downloading is simple :)

  33. Thanks so much for the great content and instructions. I understand needing to have monetary support for download services, but the current interface looks like it's designed to mislead. Thank you again!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think you are absolutely correct. They are doing this to misguide clicks. Far Far Hill isn't doing it on purpose. They are just seeking income. But sites like this download site, with so many download icons, are making their money from the companies they direct clicks to.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanx so much for explaining how to download from DepositFiles. I figured it out on my own a couple years ago & then today could not get it to work & you saved me. Yes I think it's worth the hassle to get such nice free digi artwork.

  36. Thanks for the info re downloading. However so far I have only been able to download one kit. I tried to download another (and I have lots in my wishlist!) but the download here button wouldn't work. Any suggestions gratefully received

    ReplyDelete
  37. That is so frustrating. When I download a few they stall me so I have to wait a while before I can download another. I wonder why they stopped you after just one. What a frustrating system they have.

  38. I could take the tedious download process, but I was utterly disgusted with the fact that clicking the box to type in my answer actually opened up a pop up window to Ashley Madison -- an escort service. Thanks for the large screen of a naked woman's ass /sarcasm. Not exactly my cup of tea (since I am a straight woman). People are free to access that kind of stuff if they want (it is none of my business what others do) but I HATE having it forced upon me. If I want porn or wish to hire a prostitute, I'll search for it myself. No need to force me to do it. This has never happened on any other website that I have used. Ever. Usually my security software prevents it -- but this download website either has recently acquired a virus or they are adept at working around your security. Will never, ever download anything from this site again or any other site that uses that POS download service.

  39. Oh, Truly YUCK. That is disgusting. How gross. What a horrible thing to have to see, especially since you're just downloading digi-scrap. I have had to shut that pop-up screen but I've never been so unlucky to have that be the ad hosted on it. Ewwwww.

  40. I did leave a comment via email for them, sharing your comment. I hope they do something about that. No download is worth that.
